The Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder (APLSCD) wishes to extend her profound gratitude to the President General, Agulu Peoples Union, Chief Andy Orakwelu, for his magnanimity towards the welfare of persons living with sickle cell domiciled in the sickle cell home Agulu.

According to the National Coordinator of APLSCD, Mrs Aisha Edward Maduagwu, such a wonderful gesture by one of Agulu illustrious sons and a pillar of the community, came when it was needed most.

It would be recalled that Chief Orakwelu was among the dignitaries who graced the official opening of the Sickle Cell Home Agulu on the 7th of August 2020, where he plegded his support for sickle cell eradication and patients welfare.

APLSCD is aligning with stakeholders for the eradication of sickle cell disease, and is very optimistic that Chief Orakwelu would make good use of his office as PG to preach genotype compatibility
among prospective couples.
