South-East Governors Are Doing Well – Obi
The immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has expressed satisfaction on the improving level of governance in the South-East. He was speaking in Lagos on Sunday when Ndigboamamka, a scoio-cultural organisation honoured him at the Golden Gate Restaurant, Lagos for the exemplary leadership he has continued to p[provide for the Igbos and Nigeria in general.
Speaking after the presentation of the ward, Obi said that the Governors of the four Igbo States have continued to improve the standard of lives in the geo-political zone through responsible governance hinged on the provision of infrastructure to the people.
He called on Head Bridge traders to continue to show gratitude to the Governor of Abaia State, Chief Theopdore Orji for fighting to see that the Onitsha Drug market was not closed. He also thanked him for his continued provision of quality leadership to the South-East Governors’ Forum.
Presenting the award to him, the President General of Ohaneze, Chief G. Nnachi Enwo-Igariweya said the award was in recognition of Mr. Obi’s penchant for striving to achieve excellence in all he did, especially the excellence he brought to bear on the way and manner he piloted the affairs of the government of Anambra State for 8 years.
Describing the award as a round peg in a round hole, Mr. Igarriweya thanked the Governor for remaining steadfast in all that he did and had continued to do for the good of Igboland and the country.
Following his general refusal as the former Governor to accept awards when he was the Governor, except on cases he could not resist, many organizations in Nigeria are falling over one another in the bid to honour the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi for his vision, courage and exemplary conduct as the Governor of Anambra State.
