‘Fake’ soldier busted at Asomdwee Park
One Isaac Akomah has been arrested by soldiers at the Asomdwee Park in Accra for impersonation.
The said suspect was spotted by an informant who alerted WO1 Roland Adongo and WO2 Awudu Ekomato, who were on duty at the Osu Castle on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 around 3pm.
In a video sighted by GhanaWeb, the suspect was seen fully dressed in military camouflage with Burma Camp’s 64 Infantry Regiment. He also had in his possession a gun and an ID card.
The Identification card in his possession bore the name of one Oppong Morgan and when confronted by the soldiers, confessed his outfit was given to him by a friend based in Burma Camp for reasons yet to be known.
‘The Asomdwee Park is not just a resting place for the late President Professor John Atta Mills, but mausoleum which has an important state facility.
Serving as a tourist site to both Ghanaians and foreigners, the museum holds historical materials that reflect the life and works of the late President.
The edifice also has a virtual sound room that echoes the voice of Prof. Mills in his memorable speeches and images that bring to life his sojourn as a celebrated academic, keen sportsman, humble politician, devout Christian, servant leader, President and peace-loving Ghanaian.
