The ADC-COPDEM Alliance: A Movement for Nigeria, Not Personal Interests

Fellow Obidients,

History has shown that whenever a bold and strategic move is made for the good of Nigeria, those who prioritize personal interests over collective progress always try to fight it. Today, we are witnessing the same resistance to the ADC-COPDEM alliance—not because it is a bad move, but because it threatens the selfish interests of a few.

We must ask: What is our priority? Is it personal ego, transactional politics, or the ultimate goal of ensuring Peter Obi emerges as President in 2027?

Who Fears This Alliance and Why?

  1. Those Who See Politics as a Personal Business – Some individuals have built influence within the movement, not because they believe in the cause, but because it benefits their pockets. They fear that this alliance will expose them and make them irrelevant.
  2. Those Who Play Politics of Ego – They are not opposing ADC because it lacks credibility; they are opposing it because they were not the ones who initiated the alliance. They would rather see the movement struggle than admit that a bold step was taken without them.
  3. Agents of the Establishment – Let’s not be naive. There are people who pretend to be part of the Obidient movement but are secretly working to weaken it from within. They attack any real progress because they do not want us to succeed. A Reality Check: This Movement is Bigger Than Any One Person

The Obidient movement was never about individuals. It was never about party positions, control, or personal recognition. It was, and still is, about a vision—a vision of a new Nigeria, built on competence, integrity, and development.

COPDEM’s alliance with ADC is a strategic move to expand our reach, secure a strong political structure, and avoid the mistakes of 2023. It is a proactive approach to ensure that we do not end up scattered, waiting for an election year before taking action.

Never think this Alliance is a Mistake

Dismissing ADC is Ignorance – ADC is one of the few parties in Nigeria with a credible democratic structure. Its commitment to transparency and grassroots mobilization aligns perfectly with Peter Obi’s vision.

Rejecting the Alliance is Self-Sabotage – If we truly want Peter Obi to win in 2027, we must support any platform that strengthens our movement. Fighting against this alliance only weakens our chances.

It’s Not About Leaving LP; It’s About Strengthening Our Options – Some argue that Labour Party should be our only focus, but we saw what happened in 2023. Depending on one party alone is a risky gamble. Strategic alliances give us multiple pathways to victory.

The Way Forward: Put Nigeria First

We call on every true Obidient to rise above personal interests and embrace this alliance in good faith. If you are truly for Peter Obi, then every move that strengthens his chances should be welcomed, not fought against.

The ADC-COPDEM alliance is not the enemy— ego, selfish interests, and transactional politics are the real enemies. Let’s stay focused, united, and committed to the goal.

The movement is bigger than anyone. The mission is greater than any ego. 2027 is ours to take, but only if we move as one!
