Mourns and send their sincere condolences to the family of late Dr. Adedoyin Ajibike Okupe better known as Dr. Doyin Okupe Nigerian physician and politician, who passed away on March 7, 2025. Dr. Okupe was a distinguished physician and politician, born on March 22, 1952, in Iperu, Ogun State. With heavy heart, NNPO sends a condolences to the family and and Nigeria as a whole.

Venturing into politics, his hard work earned him Special Assistant on public affairs been appointed by former president Goodluck Jonathan in 2012.
Late Dr. Doyin Okupe was active member of labour party, presidential spokesperson and campaign Director-General of His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election. His inputs, hard work, and desire for a new Nigeria will be greatly missed.

When a sked, the Convener and the DG of NNPO, Amb. Hon. Kingland Justin Ezeani, said that NNPO, interacted with Late Dr. Doyin Okupe in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner, and they always had a positive working dynamic with him; essentially, everyone at NNPO considered him to be a reliable and good person to work with.

Beyond his professional and political engagements, Dr. Okupe was known for his affable nature, principled stance, and significant contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey. He played a vital role in resisting military rule and endured persecution for his unwavering convictions.

His dedication to the vision of a new Nigeria, coupled with his hard work and commitment, will be profoundly missed. May Almighty God grant his family the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.

May Dr. Doyin Okupe’s soul rest in perfect peace.
