NATIONWIDE LEAGUE TO UNVEIL UBAH, EX-EAGLES AS PATRON, AMBASSADORS
The Management of Nigeria Nationwide League will tomorrow unveil business mogul and philanthropist, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah and four former Super Eagles players, as Patron and Ambassadors of the league.
The chairman of the league, Alhaji Ahmad Muazu Kawu told journalists on Wednesday that the event billed for Top Rank Galaxy Hotel Abuja in the morning will herald the partnership that has been formed between the owner of Capital Oil and the league.
He said the choice of Ubah was informed by his passion for youth empowerment through grassroots sports reiterating that the partnership is going to be of mutual benefit to the two bodies.
“Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has graciously accepted to be our Patron so we are going to unveil him tomorrow (today) here in Abuja.
“It is a major step in the direction of what we want to achieve in terms of sponsorship of our league. We have discussed with him and based on his vision for youth empowerment through grassroots sports, he is willing to support us.
“Furthermore, we shall at the same occasion unveil some of our Ambassadors. I am talking about Victor Ikpeba, Garba Lawal, Patrick Paschal and Daniel Amokachi.
“These stars are willing to give us all the necessary support. They will be visiting our league venues to help promote the league,” he said.
Kawu also disclosed that after the unveilings, there will be a seminar for the Nationwide League board and the clubs to review the activities of the league in the past four years.
