In a continuous show of solidarity and a heart that beats for Ndị Anam, in Anambra West LGA of Anambra State, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, joined the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Diocese of Mbamili, for the second session, of her Fifth Synod.

While presenting the Bishop’s Charge at the Synod held on Saturday, 17th February, His Lordship Rt. Rev’d Obiora Uzochukwu (PhD), the Bishop, Diocese of Mbamili, decried the little or no attention that the community gets from the government, in terms of human capital development, infrastructural development, and exploration of the community’s natural resources. He also called for a review of the community’s land policy, while commending the peace which the community has enjoyed for the past one year.
His Lordship praised indigenes of Anam and the neighbouring communities for playing a crucial role in the restoration of peace, in what was once a troubled region, due to the frequent clash between warring communities which always ended in bloodbaths.

While speaking at the Synod, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo agreed with the submissions of the Bishop and also commended the communities for peace and progress in the axis. In the same vein, he highlighted the importance of balancing focus on spirituality and economic empowerment, while emphasising the need of getting the ‘Leadership question’ right at federal, state and local levels.

“Everything my Lord Bishop said in the charge is how it is supposed to be, we need all hands on deck and while we focus on issues of spirituality, we also need to do more on the areas of economic empowerment, especially, getting the issue of leadership question right” he said.

“We have also seen what happens when we fail to get the governance issue right. What we are all going through in Nigeria is directly related to our collective failure in allow right people emerge in the right way. Even as we are gathered here for matters of spiritualily, we must pray and act in manners that would ensure the important elections of 2025 and 2027 go well as per the will of the masses and God. So, you might as well consider me the John the Baptist for the struggle.”

The Governorhip hopeful also made a donation of ₦1M to support the Diocese, and promised to maintain communications with the church leadership, concerning it’s projects and initiatives.

Dr. Prosper Amah, Bishop Of Ogbaru, Revd. Raphael Okafor, retired Bishop of Ihiala, Revd. Ndubuisi Obi, Bishop of Nnewi, Revd. Ephraim Ikeakor PhD, Bishop Of Amichi, Barr. Ben Osaka (SAN), the Chancellor of the Diocese and Justice Tagbo Anieto,

Mr. Ozigbo was accompanied by Mr. Bath Abiola Obagha, an Indegene of Anam, and member of the VCO Campaign Organisation.
