When it comes to rap music in Ghana, Obrafour’s name stands tall and as he prepares to celebrate 20 years of being in the music industry and his hit debut album, Pae Mu Ka at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, November 9, Obrafour says he is worth celebrating.

“I think I have made an impact in the Ghanaian music industry with the kind of songs I have done and it’s all by the Grace of God but it’s up to Ghanaians to be the judge. I try to stay as decent as I can with very good content in my songs.

“I don’t want to sound like I am blowing my own horn but whatever God wanted to use me for, I believe He did just that,” he told Graphic Showbiz in an interview last Monday.

Talking about his success story, Obrafour said success was not measured by physical things but what one used one’s life for on earth.

“Success is not written in my dictionary but I see success as inheriting the Kingdom of God. What about inheriting everything on earth and losing my soul. I want to base my success on what I used my life on earth for and not physical things,” he said.

Sharing his views on the new crop of rappers on the scene, Obrafour said Medikal and Strongman were his top choices.

“For some reason, I have developed serious love for rappers Medikal and Strongman. This is not to say the other rappers are not good. The likes of Teephlow are doing fantastic and I want to applaud them for that,” he said.

His advise to the young rappers is to stay focused, believe in whatever they have and never allow negativity to distract them.

Speaking about the Pae Mu Ka @ 20 concert, Obrafour who is known for songs including Moesha, Kwame Nkrumah, Odo, Who Born You By Mistake, Ako, Heavy, Asem Beba Dabi, Oye Ohene and Kasiebo, said everyone who would come to the event would have their money’s worth.

“The night is going to be incredible and I want to tell anyone who makes it to the event that they will have a memorable night come Saturday, November 9″

With a tall list of artistes such as EL, King Promise, Bisa Kdei, Kofi Mole, Quamina MP, Ofori Amponsah, Kofi B, Tinny, Guru, Sarkodie, Edem, Medikal, M.anifest, Lilwin, Efya and Strongman, one should expect nothing but a great show.

“I believe in my team, especially the Kri8 band. The band is solid and I am very positive of a great show this Saturday,” he said.

According to him, proceeds from the concert would go to his Obrafoforo Nti Foundation.
