Christian Atsu pays for release of 9 Ghanaian prisoners
This time, he has paid for the release of nine Ghanaian Prisoners.
This is coming just few weeks after he helped in paying for the release of a 62-year-old woman and her daughter who were convicted for stealing corn.
The Newcastle United soccer star has joined hands with Crime Check Foundation to help release some of the poorest prisoners in Ghana, who have been jailed for petty offences.
In all, he has paid for the release of nine African prisoners and is committed to ensuring that more people are touched in the near future.
“He has so far donated seven thousand pounds into the Petty Offenders Fund which has been launched by our Crime Check Foundation to take care of misdemeanors,” spokesperson Crime Check Foundation told ChronicleLive.
“The amount will cater for about thirty prisoners.
“Currently, nine prisoners have been released. He has promised to release many more.”
The charity previously confirmed he had helped pay the fines of some criminals while providing money for the “voiceless”.
