As I write, the President represented by the VP, Arc Namadi Sambo, GCON accompanied by the Minister of Transport, Ochendo Global, Gov. Theodore Orji and my own Oga, the Nigerian gadfly, Mr. Peter Obi( papal knight) are inside the train that took of from Port Harcourt and is going to Imo River via Aba and Umuahia.

It is instructive to note that what the VP is doing is significant. It is not a question of commissioning a project that is not functional. By riding in the train, one is connveniecd that the rehabilitation was thorough and complete.

The coaches are air conditioned.

Similarly, the Federal Government is rehabilitating other rail lines as well as building new ones, example being the Abuja-Kaduna line that is almost completed.

We are enjoying the maiden ride that one is convinced that the rail is an important component of holistic, inter-modal transportation system, which is a desiderata.
