The Cypher (Freestyling done in a group setting) for the forth coming maiden edition of the Port-Harcourt Entertainment Awards 2014 was premiered live on 95.9 Cool Fm Port-Harcourt, 3pm, Monday 19th May 2014.
The Port-Harcourt Entertainment Awards Cypher 2014 was Ran by jaminpitakwa.com with freestyles from Young Stunna, Forbszhilla, Dj Joenel, Knowledge, D.O.P.E, and Maqdaveed.
Presenting the award Cypher for the first time on the road show Elvis and Iso asked a commendable question.
In their words: “We have heard Eminem 2.0 Cypher and it was crazy good and got us wondering”
In Hip Hop is a Cypher a bunch of rappers freestyling or do they all just write verses and rap them together? ”
Before our response, Dj Exy quickly Proposed for a live performance which the house accepted.
All the artists took turns to freestyle( A style of rap, with or without instrumental beats, in which rap lyrics are performed off the top of the head) but not in battle terms live on air to an instrumental provided by Dj Exy.
