Anambra State governor, Dr. Willie Obiano, has endorsed President GoodluckJonathan for the 2015 Presidential election, urging him not to even bother coming to the state for campaign because he would ensure that he delivers Anambra to him.

Governor Obiano, who spoke during a ceremony tagged ‘a nite with Innoson and friends of Mr. President’, said he was a beneficiary of Dr. Jonathan’s transformation agenda.

The event was convened by an industrialist, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, to formally launch President Jonathan’s scorecard by a political campaign group, Goodluck Support Group (GSP). Speaking through his Special Assistant, Jeo-Martins Uzodike, the Anambra State governor, noted: “I want to first say that I’m not surprised over the invitation to be part of this ceremony because the convener, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, is the first among equals in our state.

“He is a very worthy ambassador, who has kept the flag of Anambra State flying. We are happy that he has put himself among the firsts in Anambra State and that was why I, as governor must be here to stand by him. The shoes I’m wearing belong to Chief Peter Obi, who is adjudged as the greatest supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan.

“More importantly, I stand today as the greatest beneficiary of the transformation agenda of President Jonathan. Recall that if not for the free and fair election and his one man, one vote, I would not be governor today. I’m governor because the people of Anambra State were given the opportunity to vote for a person of their choice. I’m one of the greatest beneficiaries of such measure, which was a nightmare in the recent past.

“Finally, without belabouring it, I want to state that the theme of our campaign in Anambra State is continuity. Since we are continuing with the infrastructure Governor Peter Obi put in place in Anambra, I make bold to say that we want to swim and sink with what he also left politically.

“We are going to continue with the support of President Goodluck Jonathan.”
